LAST week, an anonymous letter questioned the figure the Tory government is cutting from Bury schools and the amount our Labour council is investing in improving our roads and so I want to set the record straight.
£6.6 million is the amount being cut in total per pupil funding from schools across the whole borough.
The £3.8 million figure quoted earlier is the figure just for schools in Bury North, including more than £800,000 from schools in my own ward of Redvales.
As for investment in our roads, Labour is investing £10 million over three years and you can already see this work being carried out on strategic roads across the borough this month.
The only questionable figures are those proposed by the Tories, who suggest they can somehow invest £25 million in our roads while cutting council tax at the same time their government takes £100 million from Bury's budget.

Redvales Ward
