Well, the tea and coffee have almost run out but the enthusiasm hasn't!
The volunteers, parents of school, and the wonderful admin team have continued to inform you of events and concerts throughout the term. By now, somebody will own the deluxe hamper, drinks box, original watercolour or a new game for the console just by having bought Christmas raffle tickets!!
The Wizard of Oz' was a great success - so much so two volunteers had to make an emergency dash out for more supplies part way through the performance!
Thanks to everyone who has helped provide refreshments to visitors and staff. We are continuously raising money and have been delighted to help provide essential reading material for the library this term. We are planning to create an area at the front of the school as the Friends' Garden'.
So far our first planter is out with spring bulbs hidden away. Mr. Maxwell, parent, has carved a wooden cross which will be mounted by the garden. Our sincere thanks are offered to him for his generosity.
If you know of anybody who would perhaps offer sponsorship vouchers for supplies of garden equipment or anything else, let us know!
We work hard to support your children as well as our own and would grateful for any help, time or energy you can offer us. Our next meetings are 7th and 28th January, 2008, at 7.30 p.m. in the staffroom. A warm welcome and great cuppa at all times!
And finally, on behalf of the Parent Teacher Association for Bury Church of England High School, may we wish you a happy, peaceful Christmas.
