TWO pupils from Bury Grammar School Boys talked their way into the final of a prestigious contest.
Richard Chew and Christopher Stanton, both aged 17, represented the school in the Cambridge Union schools' debating competition.
They saw off tough competition from hundreds of other school pupils to reach the last 24, and travelled to Cambridge last week for the final.
The pair took part in three preliminary rounds, winning one of them, but missed out on the top prize.
They were named as the 17th best debating team out of the hundreds that entered the competition.
Andrew Christian, history and politics teacher, said: "They were up against some incredible competition and did very well.
"To get to the final out of hundreds of schools is very respectable indeed."
