CHILDREN from a Bury school have scooped four trophies at a music festival.
St John with St Mark, in Athlone Avenue, was one of 11 primary schools which competed in the recent Ramsbottom Festival at Woodhey High School.
Aaron Knight, aged 10, came first in the event’s solo singing class for pupils aged 10-and-under, while Daniel McLeod, aged 11, was first in solo singing for those aged 11-and-under.
Galilee Roper, aged 11, and Keenan Warbuton, aged 10, won first place in the singing duet class. The school’s junior choir came first in the part-singing section.
Music teacher Susan Whittle said: “We are thrilled at the success. It has been our best year at the festival.”
