IT was a night to remember for the pupils of Woodhey High School when they celebrated the end of their school life.

Youngsters and staff from the Ramsbottom school enjoyed an evening of glitz and glamour at the Bolholt Hotel in Bury.

One group of 45 pupils organised a double-decker bus to take them to their prom, which has become a traditional event to mark the end of high school.

They enjoyed a red carpet reception at the school in Bolton Road before boarding the stylish bus for a pre-party tour of town.

Jackie Wesley arranged the bus on behalf of her daughter, Lauren, who is a pupil at the school.

She said: “Lauren and her friends wanted to go together so we came up with the bus idea based on the theme of the old London-style open-top buses.

“We decorated it with glamorous props and played music. It was fantastic and everyone got in the party spirit.”

Staff member Sarah Bell said: “The prom was a brilliant event, everybody looked amazing and it was really glamorous.

“I can’t believe how much the students have grown up and I am really proud of them.”
