The football development tour was a huge success, with our youngsters not only developing their football skills but enjoying the sweet taste of victory as they wone both their games against strong opposition from DZ Rotterdam.

At a competition Competition played in Gullane, Scotland 26-28 May 2009, Amelia Taylor won the prestigious play for Europe in the Van Horn Cup on 29 May against the international team. This Ryder Cup style event was played on the Guillane number 1 Course in Scotland. Amelia halved the match with her European playing partner, Danielle Ferry (from Guilford) to clinch the victory against the international team. The winners of the European team each received a Quaker Bowl. The Van Horn Trophy remains at the Guillane Golf Club with the European Team Captain, Alasdair Good.

Tottington High School aim to raise the profile of The Forget Me Not Charity when an all star cast of Brass Band players come to the Tottington on Saturday 4 July for a double celebration. Mr Alan Scott retires as head of the school, after a very happy and successful 20 years and decided to go out on a high note, and aims to raise funds for this very worthwhile charity. The musicians have all donated their time and the all star cast includes players from various brass bands with Principal Cornet player Robert Westacott from the Grimethorpe Colliery Band leading the charge. Join us on July 4th for what promises to be a wonderful programme of music - you won't be disappointed. The concert starts at 7pm with a hot pot supper, with the programme of music at 8pm. Tickets £10 and £7.50 Concessions.
