THE next stage of work to replace worn-out track on the Bury to Manchester Metrolink line will begin next week.

Services will not run between Bury and Victoria Station on Thursday June 21 or Friday June 22 while engineers install new points at the Crumpsall Metrolink stop.

The points will allow trams to change direction so that they can continue operating between Crumpsall and Manchester during the rest of June and most of July. Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive is replacing nearly 20 miles of track during the summer as part of a £100 million project to improve the tram network.

Replacement bus services will operate when the stops are closed.
