The Nigerian defender has been told he has no future at Gillingham, who were relegated to League Two this week.
With 18 months left to run on his contract, he was not named on their six-strong retained list and must now hope an agreement can be reached to end his time at Priestfield.

Alan Knill has confirmed that he would like to bring Sodje on board next season, but quite aside from any settlement with the Gills, he must also overcome the matter of wages with the former World Cup star.
The 35-year-old's form since joining on loan in February has gone a long way to securing a 13th place finish, barely imaginable at the turn of the year.
And though a move to Gigg Lane is by no means secured, with several other clubs said to be taking an interest in Sodje's contract situation, he admits to having enjoyed his time with the club.
"I'll be speaking to the gaffer over the next week and we will see what happens. It's 50/50 at the moment because I still have a contract with Gillingham but I have enjoyed my time here.
"I'd love to join Bury because the manager at Gillingham has told me that he doesn't want me to play for them. It's my future, so I have to find out what I can do."
Sodje has also forecast a bright future for the Shakers - with or without his services next season.
"It's good to finish the season with a win," he said after Andy Bishop's double secured a 2-0 victory over Accrington. "People will look at Bury and realise we will be a force next season."
