BURY’S hopes of loaning Wolves winger Lewis Gobern have hit a snag.
Alan Knill had hoped to tempt the 23-year-old flyer back to Gigg Lane on a six-month loan deal.
But having spent the entire of last season on the sidelines with a knee injury, the youngster has been told by Wolves to remain in the Midlands for at least three weeks so they can monitor his progress.
Gobern spent a highly-successful two months on loan with Bury in 2006, where he helped the club beat relegation on the final day of the season.
Knill had intended to bring him back to the club as a temporary replacement for Nicky Adams, who signed for Leicester City at the start of the month.
He may now switch his attention to trialist Mike Jones, who was released by Tranmere at the end of last season but is thought to have impressed during his seven day stint at the club.
