ANDY Morrell has warned his Bury teammates that every club in League Two is waiting to shoot them down.
The in-form Shakers have stormed to the top of the table thanks to a fantastic start to the season that has seen Alan Knill’s side remain unbeaten thus far.
However, Bury are now on the radar of the division’s other 23 clubs with all of them vying to become the first team to inflict a defeat on the Gigg Lane men.
Morrell, a veteran of two promotion winning campaigns, said: “It’s nice to see us at the top of the league. I have never been top of the table during the season, so to be there after eight is very nice.
“But we want to be there after 46 games. It doesn’t matter who is top now, we are just there to be shot at by other teams.
“It’s a big scalp for teams to come and beat us so we have to stand up as a team and unit and give it our best shot to stay there.”
Bury visit newly promoted Aldershot this afternoon, and Morrell expects nothing but a tough test against a side that is notoriously difficult to beat in recent seasons.
“I have never played there and never been there so it's a new one for me,” admitted Morrell. “We’re all looking forward to it, we have had a good start to the season and we will be looking to maintain that.
“They are on a roll, they have been winning a lot of games in the Conference and they have done very well so far this season so they are on a high.
“But we’ve done our homework, like we have done on every other team, and we're looking to go there and get the three points.
“We’re good at home, and have been okay away also. We have played some good stuff and we can adapt our style to what we need to be – which is always a good thing.
“We know how they play, we have our own plans about how we are going to beat them and we'll give it a good go.”
