BURY are holding League One Stockport at bay in the second round of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy.
In the driving rain at Gigg Lane, Bury have had the better chances with Stockport's best efforts coming from long-range.
Anthony Pilkington's third minute shot from 25 yards was easily dealt with by Shakers keeper Wayne Brown, before Stephen Gleeson flashed an effort from similar distance just over the bar.
Bury's best chance came in the 37th minute when six-goal striker Andy Bishop found space on the edge of the box and fired a shot just wide of Fraser Foster's goal.
Richie Baker brought a good save from Foster two minutes later when he played a one-two with midfield partner Brian Barry-Murphy before firing in a stinging shot which the on-loan keeper parried away.
