BURY are a goal down at the interval after struggling to impose themselves on their impressive visitors from Devon.
Richard Logan's sixth minute strike separates the teams, and it has left the Shakers with plenty to do if they are to extend their unbeaten League Two record to 10 games.
The best chance for Alan Knill's side came in the 38th minute when Elliott Bennett saw his 22-yard shot tipped wide by Grecians keeper Paul Jones.
At the other end, Exeter midfielders Ryan Harley and Matt Gill have both gone close with shots and Jack Oberstellar is proving a handful on the left.
BURY (4-4-2): Brown, Scott, Futcher, Sodje, Buchanan, Bennett, Dawson, Barry-Murphy, Jones, Morrell, Bishop. Subs: Cresswell, Baker, Hurst, Racchi, Belford.
EXETER (4-3-3): Jones, Tully, Seabourne, Moxey, Taylor, Harley, Gill, Edwards, Logan, Obersteller, Stansfield. Subs: Marriott, Murray, Cozic, Watson, Sercombe.
Referee: Mark Haywood (West Yorks)
