BURY got off to an excellent start against their Yorkshire opponents in their National League North Conference clash.
They were soon 16-6 up with Mukhtar Nasir penetrating and scoring at will, as well as creating scoring opportunities for others. The home side carried on their excellent form and Bury were leading 26-11 at the end of the first period. In the second quarter, Bury went on a 13-0 scoring run with Henry Powell scoring eight, Danny Hughes three and a two pointer from Jack Hargreaves.
Bury continued to dominate, winning the quarter 22-10. Victory was sealed in the third quarter when Bury went on a 12-2 run to lead 60-25 with four minutes remaining, Hargreaves, Powell and Nasir scoring the points.
The fourth quarter was a formality as Sam Nolan Massey scored seven points with free throws and jump shots. Bradford rallied and made it a closer score, but Bury prevailed after controlling all four periods.
Bury’s next fixture is at home to York Eagles 2 on Saturday, with a noon tip off at Holy Cross College.
