6:00am Monday 4th February 2013 in Sport By Nick Jackson
NORTH Manchester League side Elton Vale are aiming to improve their outfield drainage system ahead of the start of the new season.
The club installed an electronic scorboard and artificial wicket last year and have launched a winter recruitment drive for junior players as they now also contemplate the re-introduction of sightscreens.
Vale’s new chairman is Dave Hawksworth and the team captain for the forthcoming campaign will be Ben Saker.
Winter nets are due to begin soon and new players will be welcome, according to club officials.
Further information is available from Hawksworth on 07919 015141 or Saker on 07707 2072284.
Meanwhile, winter nets are now under way for Bolton Association side Elton.
The sessions take place at Bolton College, in Deane road, Bolton, BL3 5 AB on Monday evenings until March 25.
Times of the sessions are under-9s and u11s 6.30pm to 7.25pm; u13s and u15s 7.30pm to 8.25pm; u18s and seniors 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
