Big meeting for Bury RUFC

A PUBLIC meeting will take place at Bury RUFC on Monday (February 4) following the award of a £50,000 Olympic Legacy funding grant to the club.

Since new of the funding boost broke, Bury South MP Ivan Lewis has praised the volunteers at the club for working hard to keep the Radcliffe road club going.

“The importance of participation in sports for young people cannot be overstated,” he said.

“Bury are doing great work to engage with local communities and schools and boost involvement in rugby by young people from all backgrounds.”

The town’s council leader Cllr Mike Connolly has also hailed the work of the club, saying the club had been “deservedly recognised” by Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund.

The meeting starts at 8pm. More information is available from Geoff Triggs on 07810 525007.
