Zakir re-signs for Greenmount

GREENMOUNT Cricket Club have signed professional Asif Zakir for his third professional year ahead of the start of the Bolton League season.

The Brandlesholme Road outfit have also added to their squad with returning former player Ryan Senior and Phil Ingram, who moves from Eagley where he has been professional captain.

“Both Ryan and Phil are prolific all rounders and were regulars in the victorious Bolton League Interleague side during 2012,” said Greenmount cricket chairman Dave Willetts.

The club have a friendly against Haslingden on Saturday, April 20, a week before their first match of the league campaign, at Bradshaw, for whom former Greenmount pro Saeed Anwar has signed.

Greenmount have drawn Tonge at home in the Hamer Cup, but their most eagerly awaited fixture will be when they entertain Elton and former captain John Ashworth at home in the first round of the Lancashire Knockout on May 15.

Meanwhile, nets for Greenmount start tonight at Woodhey High School.

The indoor sessions start at 7pm and run until 8.30pm. Outdoor nets will begin on Tuesday, April8 , from 6.30pm to 8pm at the the club.
