88 - Worrall shoots across goal, just wide of the far post.

4:38pm

75 - Matt Tubbs replaces Lewis Grabban and Jonson Clarke-Harris is on for Zac Thompson.

4:26pm

4:25pm

58 - Ritchie puts another shot just wide.

4:18pm

4:12pm

48 - Pitman sends in a high floating cross-shot that had Carson in two minds. Grabban almost got on the end of it to head a certain goal before the ball curls just wide.

4:08pm

Bury kick off the second half

3:52pm

Bournemouth 1 Bury 1

3:51pm

45+3 - Carson tips a quick free kick from Pitman round the post.

3:47pm

44 - YELLOW - David Worrall goes in the book for obstruction of a free kick.

3:45pm

42 - Carson sticks out a foot to deny a certain goal from Eunan O'Kane, who wriggled through the Bury defence far too easily.

3:44pm

40 - Allsop pulls off a decent save low to his left to deny Bishop after the goalscorer sent a low snapshot on target following good work from Worrall on the left.

3:38pm

35 - SUB - Nicky Ajose replaces Craig Jones

3:37pm

Worrying signs for Craig Jones. It doesn't look like he can continue after going down holding his thigh. Jones twisted awkwardly after making a clearance.

3:31pm

28 - Calls for handball waved away by ref Chris Sarginson after Matt Ritchie drove the resulting free-kick at the wall.

3:30pm

27 - Ashley Eastham heads clear after Lewis Grabban powers through on goal and lobs Carson.

3:26pm

24 - GOAL - Bournemouth 1 BURY 1 - Andy Bishop plants a towering header past Ryan Alsopp in the Cherries goal, converting a great cross from the right by Craig Jones, who did well to stay on his feet after robbing left-back Charlie Daniels in possession.

3:24pm

20 - Pitman just fails to connect with a low Marc Pugh cross at the near post. Another let-off for Bury after earlier chances for Eunan O'Kane and Lewis Grabban. They are playing too high a line and failing to close the Cherries forwards down quick enough.

3:11pm

10 - GOAL - BOURNEMOUTH 1 Bury 0 - Brett Pitman takes the ball around the on-rushing Bury keeper Trevor Carson and slides it into the empty net from a tight angle after being played in by Lewis Grabban.

3:08pm

Craig Jones was receiving treatment on the sidelines after crashing into the advertising  hoardings, he's ok now though, although off the pitch a medic has been called to the home dugout.

3:05pm

4 - David Worrall flashes a shot wide after a powerfull run from midfield.

3:02pm

Bournemouth get the match underway...

3:01pm

The teams are observing a minute's applause before the match in honour of former kitman Ken Sullivan, former player Ray Bumstead and three-year old fan Harry Churchill, who both passed away this week.

2:59pm

The teams are out on the pitch. Bury had 366 fans cheering them on the last time they were on the south coast - at Portsmouth two weeks ago.

I'd say there was probably about 100 tops in the Goldsands today.

I don't expect us to score more than 1 goal today but would be happy with a positive result.

Good luck lads and win for the team, the club but not our temporary boss.

Team news

It looks like Kevin Blackwell has reverted back to a 4-5-1 formation, with centre midfielder Zac Thompson coming back into the starting line-up, replacing striker Craig Fagan, who is not in the squad.

Efe Sodje retains his place in the first 11, recovering from the knock on his knee that forced the veteran to limp off 15 minutes from the end of Tuesday's win at home to Stevenage.

Blackwell has also only named four subs, with no place for right-back Carl Regan or striker David Healy, as well as Fagan.

2:22pm

Full line-ups

BOURNEMOUTH: Allsop; Francis, Seaborne, Cook, Daniels; Ritchie, Arter, O'Kane, Pugh; Pitman, Grabban.

Subs: Jalal, Fogden, Macdonald, McQuoid, Elphick, Hughes, Tubbs.

BURY: Carson; Ebanks-Landell, Sodje, Eastham, Skarz; Carrington, Thompson; C Jones, Schumacher, Worrall, Bishop.

Subs: Ajose, Clarke-Harris, Belford, Mezague.

Referee: Chris Sarginson.

2:15pm

When the fixture list came out last summer, I had hoped Bury's trip down to the south coast to take on Bournemouth would have been played in glorious sunshine.

Not so, it's freezing at Goldsands, with a chill wind blowing in off the English Channel.

Anyway, lets hope that it hots up on the pitch at least as Bury bid to follow up their midweek win over Stevenage with another much-needed three points against Eddie Howe's promotion hopefuls.

I wonder what point Mr Blackwell is trying to make by not even putting Healy, Fagan and Regan on the bench. Talk about poking yourself in the eye with a blunt stick!!!

The thing that surprised me about the bench was not so much the absence of Regan and Healy, but the presence of Belford rather than Dibble as reserve goalie and the absence of Euan Holden,Skarz has been dreadful all season,is paid an inordinate amount of money to be so, yet remains an automatic pick, with Holden never even on the bench.Still, trying to fathom the workings of Blackwell's mind would probably prove beyond anyone.

7 wins from 30 games = 25 % win ratio.
Looks like his boasting has caught up with our Kev.

Bang goes your 40% ratio Kev.
The way the lads capitulated in the second half mirrors the fragility of our manager and his ponderous tactics.

The only people can initiate change are our weak Chairman and the other directors.

4-1 might look like a harsh scoreline but The Cherries had 14 or more shots on our goal.

It's not so much the team that are poor it's the whole squad and the lack of options,

Losing Craig Jones on 38 minutes probably made it a harder game to win and despite a few mustered chances the team collapsed once again in a second half of an away game much like at Pompey & Notts County.

No stomach for the fight,no leadership from our captain, mistakes, poo
r decision making and a stench of resignation to relegation sums it up.

Oh and Bournemouth hadn't won any of their last 3 home games.

It's actually 7 wins from 31 which equates to just under 23%.30 points accrued, less than 1 per game both stats make the self proclaimed messiah the least successful permanent manager in the club's near 130 year history.

Ok if one is going nit pick then yes 31 games and 30 points.

Just listened to his post match comments on BBC RADIO MANCHESTER,the clown hasn't got a clue.

All we hear from him is "WE HAVEN'T HAD THE RUB OF THE GREEN".
WE ARE PLAYING WELL BUT INDIVIDUAL ERRORS ARE TO BLAME AND POOR FINISHING.

Well mister Blackwell you are supposed to be the manager of our club, bring in a sports Psychologist and sort the player's minds out.

What on earth do you do in training week in week out.

Craig Jones is now out for the season and another several players have injuries meaning youth needs to be given a chance.

I think it was Brian Fenton who said that he wanted to see more of our youth team coming through in to the first team at the beginning of the season.

Well it certainly doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon does it?.

Only David Worrall has come through our youth team and he was sold on the cheap only to be brought back on a free transfer.

Not one of our players can honestly say that they have had a good season even Schuey apart from his 10 goals.

The chairman hasn't got the bottle to sack Blackwell it's obvious.

If he did then just maybe the fans might return to support the club in their hour of need.

Brian Fenton is in a Catch 22 situation! He can`t afford to sack Mr Blackwell, but he can`t afford not to sack Mr Blackwell.

You were smashed off the pitch you can't blame a manager when your attendances are only 1500 you got no revenue and that means no team

12:18pm Sun 24 Mar 13

This has got to be the final nail in the coffin the chairman must act now and sack the manager. Finance does not come into it as if the club has no money at this point in time to pay compensation then Blackwell will have to wait . Other clubs have shifted managers out and paid them off at a later date so why are Bury dithering?

It's quite simple like "YOUR HAVING A LAUGH" who cannot spell.

Put this manager on gardening leave until the end of the campaign.

If we all had the financial muscle of BOURNEMOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB then it might be an even playing field.

Like ourselves they have been in administration and cannot afford to get promoted.

It will cost your little tin popt club over 10 million in wages to play in The Championship matey.

If your investor pulls the plug you will be back where you belong struggling in league 2.To belt up and clear off our site.

Can only assume Fagan was injured or something, there's no-way he would have been left out....surely.

However, needing WINS our superb manager leaves Ajose and Clarke-Harris on the bench to instead opt to bring back the utterly useless Thompson and adopt (as Eileen said) a 4-5-1 formation. Honestly now, did anyone see us getting anything from this game when we started like this?
It's simple, stick to 4-4-2 by putting Ajose up top with Bishop, leaving Thompson on the bench.....why oh why do we take 2 steps backwards just as we take 1 step forwards......our manager really is tactically inept.

Just seen the goals on Sky this morning, Carson (1st goal), Ebanks-Landell (3rd goal) and Sodje (4th goal)......what on earth were you thinking guys? This season really has been littered with defensive mistakes, we just can't complain with the position we're in.

Bring back Knilly I say, he stuck to 4-4-2 and look what happened......but after the vile verbal abuse he endured by our scally fans, it'll never happen.

Ok so your point is MISTER WURZEL?.

Bournemouth is a backwater little seaside town where the fishes have as many brains as the locals.

Oooh ahh ooooh keep taking those carrots they mind improve your brain power.

Oh silly me you southern softies like a nice drop of scrumpy cider with your spuds whilst munching those tasty carrots.

"I'VE GOT A BRAND NEW COMBINE HARVESTER OOOH AHHH OOOH AHH.

Bournemouth is a little irrelevant seaside resort not a patch on Southampton.

Spot on with every observation there shakencity, if only our so called manager was as tactically literate as you clearly are.Interesting poit about Knill, I don't suppose he ever would come back afte copping the abuse he dis from the braindead element of our support, but as you say his tried and trusted 4-4-2 was geneally successful at Bury. The probem wih 4-5-1 in the lower leagues is that th wide players generally don't ply close enough to the striker who gets isolated, and the three centre midfielders trip over each other through beng too close together.Blackwell is s negative though tha he'd never play two up to away from Gigg.

One striker up front is ok if your team works the ball up the field from defence, through midfield and towards the oppositions goal. This approach gives time for the supporting midfield players (if they are quick enough) to get forward, giving a team four, five or more options to pass the ball around and shoot at the right opportunity.
This plan tends to fall apart when a team has its goalkeeper send the ball long, hoping for the forward to control it and keep it until supporting players arrive. It also falls apart when all your players are not skillful enough, including defenders to control and pass the ball. It needs players from midfield to be able to score goals too. And not just one midfield player. When Andy Bishop is left as the one attacker, all too often this year, he is left alone with no support running onto the balls he could lay off when he wins them. Again, I get the feeling that many of our midfield players don't have confidence in Bishop winning the ball in the first place and thus don't make the runs off the attacker?
My preferred approach is two forwards, one tall well built guy and a quick sprinter who can anticipate those lay-off headers and passes.

Sadly right now, the only way I can see us staying up is if we sign Lionel Messi on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season. (Mind you, we'd probably pump it up to him then too and tell him to go and chase after it?) However, probably the less said about Barca the better eh Eileen?

Finally, it just isn't as exciting to watch us play with one attacker, especially at home, where we should be expecting to take the game to the opposition and win.

So Eileen, find him then? (presume it was a bloke!)

Worzel? whats all that about? and as for Saints...have you heard anyone from Southampton talk? right off the farm ;-)

Anyway, best of luck in the dogfight - heard that Bury were by no means the worst team to visit DC, and some of those have scraped a draw...

Now where did I put my pitchfork ;-)
