3:07pm

6 - Soares has the first attempt on goal of the match, firing wide from 25 yards.

3:05pm

First impression - it looks as if Flickers is playing three in midfield - Sedgwick, Miller and Soares - with Craig Jones just behind the front two of Nardiello and Harrad.

3:00pm

Craig Jones wins the toss and elects to kick to the opposite end, towards the away fans.

Bury kick off...

Goalkeeper news: Fred Barber's son, Jonathan was in goal as David Flitcroft was putting his strikers through shooting practice.

The boss is taking a bit of a gamble with selection of harrad and cameron though both players will want to have a good game against their former teams 'nice to see procter has been dropped who is our new captain?

2:29pm

Team news

New manager David Flitcroft makes three changes to the side that lost at Cambridge United in the FA Cup.

Danny Nardiello returns after being unavailable for that game, replacing fellow Rotherham loanee Danny Hylton, who loses his place in the squad altogether.

Tommy Miller takes captain Andy Procter's place in the centre of midfield, with the former Accrington skipper dropping down to the bench.

Winger Craig Jones takes the armband.

And Shaun Beeley makes a welcome return to the defence, allowing Nathan Cameron to switch back into the centre of the backline after covering for Beeley at right-back against Cambridge.

Euan Holden and Jessy Reindorf lose their places on the bench, while Richard Hinds drops out completely after starting the defeat at Cambridge.

In comes Ashley Grimes for his first involvement in a matchday squad since coming on as a sub in the 3-1 defeat at home to Torquay United on November 2.

C**p. Yet another dismal performance from a dismal team. This lot has to be the worst we have ever had. No skill, no passion, no idea. Only hope a massif clear out will happen sooner rather than later. Get rid or get relegated.

well done to all the fans that came out to show true support in horrible weather. we would have probably had 3500 if the weather had been better and very lowly Northampton brought more themselves.
Anyway Flits needs these games to see what he's got first. I fear he will be soon realising what a big job he's taken on. I bet his pages of work notes are already lengthy. Transfer window opens soon. We all have at least now a rebuilding process to be optimistic about and support along.

Eileen. You of all people are the last to accuse of negative comments. My comments were aimed at our current squad who have proved time and time again that they are simply not up to the task. Not at our new manager. He is not the Messiah and if you honestly believe that he can turn these turnips into any thing better then I'm afraid you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

First 20 minutes thought is this Bury, manager only been in the job a week and wow some lovely passing football, score (albeit a penalty) 3 minutes later from yet another edge of the box set piece Northampton are level,
Then the self destruction button was not pressed but jumped on.
Nothing but nothing came together, short passes too short, even the goalie was to stop the long ball hoofing.
Come January the first thing is to secure Nardiello, Short of his shot going direct to the keeper, his ball control and shot on goal should of had a better outcome, yet most of the game he was a lone striker,
The crowd let the new manager know the feeling on proctor when he came on.
Play 90 minutes like the first 20 minutes of today's game and we may start climbing. Good Luck David today you've seen the size of your mountain

I agree with Rotarywing and Long Champ. Flits will now have seen what we have seen all season to date. From sessions on the training ground, David had clearly told and got the players to pass the ball from the back and this worked well early on in the game. He will want them to play this style of football I am sure but as the game went on the players tired, (lots of them are clearly unfit) and they became lazy.

Hard to see us keeping more than 2 or 3 of this lot if we are serious about moving up and can afford more new players.

Sadly this is Blackwell's doing and most of them are not fit to wear the shirt.....
David will now be seeing the job he has..
David needs good luck, some money and our continued support!

I am merely making a statement with regards to throwing in negative comments when we need all of our supporters to get behind the team.

If you are as negative with your comments at real live matches then i'm afraid David will not only battling to win over the likes of you but also convince himself that he can do a job at Gigg lane.

Yes the players have fallen short this season but i am optimistic that with the right coaches in place and an emphasis on physical fitness and shed a few of the lazy sods that need to move on we can build for a bright Shaker's future.

The tactics and adability in terms of utilising different systems may also play a part in our long term success.
I doubt however that many of these players could cope with this aspect.

Shame about Hilts doing his groin in and Soares pulling his hamstring and desperate lack of cover at the back.

Interesting choice of captain "Craig Jones",i never really saw him as a leader but i was impressed with his post match interview.

The next 3 away games at Plymouth,Pools & Chesy will be tough but if we can gain 4 points from these games and win our next two home games we will be secure in a mid table position.

Yesterday we came up against a direct and sometimes thugish style of anti football in the shape of The cobblers.
How their player has got away with an elbow in the face of Sedgewick is beyond me.

The cobblers is quite an apt way of describing their style of football all hoof ball, their manager Aidy Boothroyd is lucky to be still in a job with the brand of football he is adopting down at Sixthfields.

It's funny because Blackie placed so much emphasis on the physical side of the game and yet in the second half of matches the players were running on empty, did he achieve anything in his tenure at our club?,in a word no.

Lisamit says they look lacking in fitness........But..
...........
I seem to remember when our Blackwell tunnel opened his gob he once went on about how unfit the team he inherited was. So was he giving it BLACKWELL BLARNEY? Or did the 'love-in' between some players and Jepson after he KB left let the training slide? Surely first requirement of a pro footballer if you are not injured is to be fully fit from daily training.

Iistened to the interview with radio Manchester and it is VERY CLEAR that Flitcroft will be making changes. He praised certain players and also was very "surprised" by others.

He will sort out the Ghost of Blackwell's mistakes and we will be fine.

Craig came in for some high praise and that is a good thing.

Roll on January so he can build a TEAM rather than a disjjointed group of players.

And yes, GREAT trurn out by the fans....

well people all we can do no matter what you think is give him time !! lets face it to let Musoe go back to Wigan and bring in Howels was a Joke that was Jepsons doing.
Edgy was just that at center half and the sooner Hinds gets a chance the stronger we will be in the heading department at the back.
I have been very scathing of harrod but i am afraid to say it again the lad is just not good enough and we need another striker now.!!
we can send at least 4 of our 6 (now ) loan players back and get someone to play alongside Nardiello in the middle surely Holden deserves a chance before Proctor ? all this said i am sure if we all keep the faith like we did on saturday we will be ok and let Flikker do his job and this will just be a bad memory for us all !! Keep with Lads and lasses and we will have something to shout about soon

I am extremely optimistic about our future in Flts & Brassy we trust.
