NEW Bury boss David Flitcroft expects to unveil former Shakers team-mate Chris Brass as his assistant manager tomorrow.

Flitcroft confirmed after yesterday's 1-1 draw at home with Northampton Town - his first match in charge - he had all but concluded negotiations to prise Brass away from his role as Alan Knill’s assistant at Torquay.

“We weren’t far off on Friday, but we just felt he had to be alongside Knilly on Saturday and support him,” said Flitcroft of Brass, who also worked under Knill at Gigg Lane during his time as Bury boss.

“Hopefully Brassy will be here on Monday and we can really start working and get some of the hard miles in."

Flitcroft also revealed he was in talks to tempt Mike Pollitt from Wigan Athletic to become his goalkeeping coach.

“We are still negotiating with Wigan (over Pollitt)," he added.

"We’ve got other people that we are looking at. It’s definitely not a done deal at the minute.”
