Bury FC boss David Flitcroft has boosted his squad ahead of tomorrow's clash with Accrington Stanley after bringing in three new signings.
Former Manchester City and Rochdale midfielder Andrew Tutte and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro have both joined The Shakers this morning.
Meanwhile, this afternoon it was revealed that ex-Northampton striker Clive Platt is another name to join the JD Stadium side.
Tutte, aged 23, joined City as a nine-year-old youngster in 1999, and was highly thought of as he developed under their guidance.
In August 2010, he joined near neighbours Rochdale on loan, and capped his debut with a brace of assists in a 3-1 victory.
Loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Yeovil Town followed in the same season, and after being released by Man City at the end of the 2010/2011 season, he joined Rochdale on a free transfer.
Since then he has played a total of 68 games, scoring eight goals on the way, including a goal of the season strike against Huddersfield Town.
Meanwhile, Akpro is a French / Ivorian striker with a wealth of experience in English League Football, having played over 150 games for Grimsby Town, Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers collectively.
He started his career with his hometown club, Toulouse, before a loan spell at Stade Brestois 29, and a brief stint at FCM Brussels before moving to the UK in 2008, where he joined Grimsby Town, and went on to score eight goals in his 18 month spell.
At the start of the 2010-2011 season, he joined Rochdale, where he played a part in their respectable ninth place finish. He left the club after his two- year contract expired, scoring 11 goals during his time there.
Signing for Ronnie Moore’s Tranmere Rovers soon after, he scored a brace of goals on his debut in a 3-1 win over Leyton Orient, and went on to score nine goals for Tranmere, seven of which came in a 10 game spell.
Meanwhile, Platt has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season and can list a number of clubs on his footballing CV, from Walsall to Rochdale, Notts County, Peterborough, MK Dons, Colchester, Coventry and Northampton Town.
Speaking this morning, manager David Flitcroft said: “Jean-Louis is obviously a player I have worked with before.
"He is a player that loves football and loves to be involved in football. He’s got a fantastic commitment to his game and has that pace, power and strength that supporters love to see.
"He’s a player we have been tracking for a while and with him being out of the side at Tranmere we are delighted to have his services with us until the end of the season.
Flitcroft added: "Andrew has the profile of a player I like to work with.
"He is a brave player with an excellent passing range.
"He has that ability to ghost beyond defenders and that drive to create goal-scoring opportunities for others, as well as the ability to score goals himself.
"He’s found it difficult at Rochdale recently because of the quality of player that Keith Hill has assembled at Spotland, and the quality of players coming up through their academy system.
"Andrew has an incredible footballing quality in a possession based system and will fit straight into our squad and is another player that I am delighted to get over the line.
"This football journey at Bury is full of good people, and Clive is another great human being to have with us.
"He knows football inside out and his experience will be invaluable to us in the final twenty games and will be extremely valuable for us to move forward.
"Clive is a leader of men and enjoys leading a team. His hold up play is second to none and now that we have plenty of pace and power in the squad, it will be important for Clive to hold the ball up for us.
"Now it is my job as manager to make sure that the movement in and around Clive is devastating to the opposition.”
Tutte has represented England at both U19 and U20 level.
He will take the number 16 shirt while Akpro will wear 17 and is available for selection for the Shakers game at Accrington Stanley tomorrow.
