The ladies’ first team cruised into the semi-final of the Greater Manchester All Divisions Cup, as they brushed aside Stockport Bramhall with four first half goals.

Beth Topping returned to action and made her mark after just two minutes, as she converted from close range to give Bury the perfect start. With quarter of an hour gone,

Charlotte Bates doubled the lead with an impressive swept finish, which was perfectly positioned, clipping the inside of the post, and leaving the keeper stranded.

Topping then added another eight minutes later, as she smashed home a short corner, giving the visiting keeper no chance as she found the bottom corner of the net.

Youngster Becky Loonan rounded off the scoring with a composed finish, two minutes before half time, capping a sustained piece of Bury pressure.

Deteriorating conditions saw play in the second half become increasingly difficult, with Bury failing to convert several chances despite, good work from Joanne Long, Charlotte Bates and Paula Evans.
