NETBALL: City Leisure 17 Kings 23

First published in Sport

This game in Division Two of the Bury Ladies Netball League started very even, with both teams scoring from their own centres.

Kings crept ahead by two goals, before City Leisure found themselves in front by two goals after some excellent shooting by their man-of-the-match goal attack, who scored 16 of their 17 goals.

Kings brought it back to an even score before netting a penalty on the stroke of half-time to lead 9-8.

City Leisure were slow getting back into the game in the second half with Kings taking advantage to score the next three goals to lead 12-8. Kings stayed four ahead for most of the second half and made sure of the points in the final minutes when they scored two goals to win the game 23-17.
