BURY boxer Scott Quigg will make the second defence of his WBA world super-bantamweight title against Venezuelan Nehomar Cermeno at Manchester’s Phones4u Arena on April 19.

Unbeaten Quigg, aged 25, retained his title in November with a routine second-round technical knockout victory over Diego Oscar Silva in November, just over a month after being held to a draw by Yoandris Salinas of Cuba.

While there have been rumours of an all-British showdown with Northern Ireland’s Carl Frampton, Quigg, pictured must now focus on mandatory challenger Cermeno, who has some impressive scalps on his CV.
