Bury waltzed in with 14 tries and eight conversions in their North Lancashire Division Two encounter with Crosby.

The Radcliffe Road men opened their account on three minutes with a try by captain Jon Allen. This was followed 12 minutes later when winger Sam Ware scored the first of his two tries, followed by a try from lock forward Tom Jones.

Ware added to his score four minutes later and Alex English, celebrating his 21st birthday, went over for the first of his two tries.

Number eight forward Chris Potts scored the first of his two tries, followed almost immediately by Dan Scanlon, and Potts rounded off the half with a try in the 36th minute.

Stand-off Lawrence Shedwick converted five of the tries and Bury went in at the interval with a winning margin of 50-0.

Lock forward James Swinburn scored the first try of the second period. He then followed up with two more tries in the 52nd and 55th minute. Centre Leo Frescini, who had an excellent game, sneaked over for a try. Shedwick added to the tally before English rounded off the game with a try in the dying moments.

On Saturday, Bury play leaders North Manchester at the Radcliffe Road ground, kick off 3pm.
