Bury loan striker Danny Rose recalled by Barnsley

BARNSLEY have recalled loan striker Danny Rose from Bury, the club has revealed.

The 20-year-old striker has made a big impact at the JD Stadium, scoring three goals in six appearances, helping David Flitcroft's side move from a relegation battle to the verges of the play-off race.

Any chances of promotion, however, were snuffed out by yesterday's 1-0 defeat at play-off rivals York City.

And with the Tykes needing at least four points from their remaining two Championship fixtures to stave off relegation, Danny Wilson has acted to bolster his attacking options.

The move has left Bury short of available strikers for Saturday's visit of Portsmouth, with top scorer Danny Nardiello suspended following his red card at York and Clive Platt needing a painkilling injection ahead of yesterday's game.

I would like to thank Danny for all of his efforts and most importantly his 3 goals which have helped our club avoid relegation.

It's unfortunate that he wasn't allowed to complete his loan period but I for one fully appreciate that his manager at oakwe'll needs players of his calibre to play their part in their survival bid.

Good luck to Danny for the rest of the season in helping your club avoid the drop.

Totally understandable that Barnsley re-call him looking at their position. David gets the credit for getting him in for us and Danny also gets total credit for his goals.

Danny...you are always welcome at Ggg

I think Danny's enjoyed his time at Gigg, so let's hope a deal for him next season might still be in DFs thoughts.

We thank him for his services and wish him well in the last few games of the season over at Barnsley. As easy says, you're always welcome at La Stade de Gigg.
