Bury Amateur Boxing Club’s Sarah Dunne is celebrating after being selected for England ahead of the European Championships, which begin on May 23.
The 26-year-old boxer, from Prestwich, was recently named the Diamond in the Ring Champion after beating Jane Mellor from Aintree ABC.
Dunne, pictured, enjoyed further success last Friday evening as she won a unanimous points-decision over Kirsty Hill of Grimsby Amateur Academy.
Last weekend saw the Class A and B junior championships take place at Walkden Sixth Form College.
Ibrahim Nadim won on a split decision over W McFall from Collyhurst and Moston ABC in his 40kg bout, while Hasnain Sajyad lost unaminously on points over C Taylor from Jimmy Eagles ABC in his 66kg fight.
In the following round, Nadim won on points over Connor Burton from Middleton Select. He will now box against a representative from Cheshire and Merseyside in the pre-quarter-finals at Walkden on Saturday.
