Bury Broncos A remain top of the table after getting back to winning ways with victory at Cadishead Rhinos last Thursday.

The Broncos opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Paul Kynaston gathered a loose ball to power over for an easy try, with Chris Ready adding the extras.

The hosts were soon back level when the ball was worked out to the left to centre Matty Lee, who surged through a gaping hole in the defence before touching down for a converted try.

Bury restored their lead within five minutes when Warren Bluer scored his first try of the evening.

The lead was doubled on the half hour with man-of-the-match Jonathan Tindale putting Cadishead under pressure and veteran Dave Latham grounded his first try of the season.

Tindale rounded off the first half scoring four minutes before the break. Chris Radford started the move in his own half, putting his brother Adam through a gap with a delayed pass.

The big prop powered upfield before handing the ball off to the supporting Callum Donaldson. This sent the ball moving through several pairs of hands before Neil Shacklock put in the final pass to Tindale. He brushed off an attempted tackle to score a superb team try and make it 18-6 to the visitors at the break.

In the second half, Bluer crossed for his second just four minutes after the break before Cadishead hit back midway through the half as Lee crossed for his second to make it 24-12.

Ready added a penalty and a drop goal before Shacklock stole the ball and beat several Cadishead defenders to score the final try of the game to seal Bury’s victory.
