Bury boxer Ibrahim Nadim is through to the final of the youth championships after an unanimous points victory in his 40kg fight against Usman Ali from Eastside ABC at the Great Barr Leisure Centre in Birmingham at the weekend.
Fourteen-year-old Nadim, pictured, will now meet last year’s 34-36kg national champion Michael Oats, from Repton ABC, in Sunday’s final in London.
Two other amateur boxers from Bury ABC were also in action this week. Sarah Dunne crashed out of the European Championships in Bucarest with defeat against Sandra Kruk from Poland.
The 26-year-old lost 3-0 to the number one in Europe and number two in the world, while youngster Kieran Winstanley boxed T Brocklehurst from Hebdon Bridge in a skills bout in Halifax on Friday night.
