GREENMOUNT cruised into the third round of the Lancashire Knockout with a comprehensive 183-run victory at home to Greenfield.
The Saddleworth League side had no answer to Greenmount’s strong batting line-up, with captain Andy Kerr leading the way with an entertaining 92.
Club professional Akbar ur-Rehman weighed in with 86 while Simon Woolford piled on the agony for Greenfield with a hard-hitting 63 as the Brandlesholme Road men finished on 312.
The visitors’ reply lasted just 37 overs as they were bowled out for 129, with Ryan Senior taking 4-28 and the remaining wickets spread around the team.
Their first win of the competition, following a bye in the opening round, set up a tie at either Edgworth or Flixton in the next round.
