Greenmount booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire Knockout with a four-wicket win at Bolton Association side Edgworth on Sunday.

It means the Bolton League will have three representatives in the last eight with Little Lever also booking their place last weekend, while Westhoughton had already secured a last-eight tie at home to Ormskirk.

Ryan Senior was the man-of-the-match for the Brandlesholme Road men, taking 2-27 as Edgworth posted 171-8 from their 45 overs, before guiding them home with 14 overs to spare after making an unbeaten 37.

Jaco Fourie (51) had earlier top scored for Egerton with a half-century while Guy Haynes hit 47 not out and Phil Heaton backed up Senior with 2-18.

In reply, Phil Ingram laid the groundwork with 51 and Greenmount ultimately cantered to victory, setting up a tough quarter-final tie at Central Lancashire League leaders Norden.

Greenmount chairman Dave Willets is hopeful that Walkden will agree to switching their Bolton League fixture from Sunday, July 27 to Sunday, August 10 to allow them to play their quarter-final. He said: “We’ve been offered July 27 by Norden and the Bolton League have given us permission to change our league fixture with Walkden on that date. We are just waiting for Walkden to confirm that this is acceptable. It’s likely to be August 10 because that’s when we are both free.”

Little Lever will entertain Walsden, of the Central Lancashire League, in the last eight on Sunday. If they are successful in that match, Greenmount could be waiting for them in the semi-finals.
