Team news

Kelvin Etuhu comes in for his competitive debut for the Shakers in one of only two changes from the starting line-up in Tuesday night's 3-2 extra time defeat at Bolton in the Capital One Cup.

Chris Sedgwick drops down to the bench to make way for Etuhu as Bury manager David Flitcroft sticks with the same 3-4-1-2 formation that bamboozled Wanderers.

The switch from 4-4-2 was forced on Flitcroft to a certain extent after he lost right-back Craig Jones to a sciatic nerve problem, and Jones remains sidelined today.

Danny Rose, however, has bolstered the Shakers' attacking options on the bench after signing from Barnsley on an emergency loan yesterday.

The 20-year-old striker joined with a view to a permanent move and is sure to see some game time today after both Ryan Lowe and Danny Nardiello ran their socks off in defeat at the Macron Stadium in midweek.

Forward James Poole, who signed last week after being released by Hartlepool in the summer, is also among the substitutes, as is first-choice keeper Shwan Jalal, who has made way for Rob Lainton in the starting line-up after picking up a groin strain at Bolton.

Tommy Miller is a familiar face in the Hartlepool starting XI, returning to his hometown club after being released by Bury in the summer.

2:13pm

Full line-ups

BURY: Lainton; Cameron, Mills, McNulty; Soares, Etuhu, Tutte, Hussey; Adams; Nardiello, Lowe.

Subs: Jalal, Rose, Mayor, Sedgwick, Thompson, Widdowson, Poole.

HARTLEPOOL UNITED: Flinders, Duckworth, Bates, Austin, Holden, Parnaby, Miller, Walker, Franks, James, Harewood.

Subs: Dixon, Collins, Woods, Brobbel, Hawkins, Richards, Smith.

2:07pm

Good afternoon from Victoria Park.

We expect the teams in the next five minutes, but the latest news is that goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is currently undergoing a warm-up on the pitch.

Youth team keeper Jack Ruddy is also here, possibly as back-up if first choice stopper has not fully recovered from the groin strain that forced him off at half-time in Tuesday's Capital One Cup defeat at Bolton.

Rob Lainton may well start, whatever the outcome of Jalal's fitness test, although he looks to be fine.
