BURY boss David Flitcroft has resisted the temptation to throw Danny Rose straight into action after clinching the striker on an emergency loan from Barnsley yesterday.

The 20-year-old forward, who scored three goals in six appearances while on loan at Bury last season, starts on the bench for today's trip to Hartlepool United.

Rose thanked Barnsley fans for their good luck messages via Twitter yesterday after his switch to the JD Stadium was confirmed.

And he looks unlikely to return to his hometwon club after it was revealed the loan was sealed with a view to making the switch permanent.

"Thank you for your messages," wrote the young Yorkshireman on his Twitter account @dannyrose_32.

"Always hard to leave the club you support but can't wait to start tomorrow with a win!"

While Rose is just starting out on his career at Bury, it looks like former Shakers youth team striker Regan Walker has played his last game for the club.

The 18-year-old, who was given a full-time contract by former Bury boss Ronnie Jepson last season, has left today for Hyde FC.
