The August Bank Holiday weekend saw local rider Nige ‘Pitty’ Pitt take on the stunning Anglesey Coastal circuit for Round 7 of the Thundersport GB Championships.

Pitty qualified in a slightly disappointing 26th place and a great start was needed from row seven of the grid. He made it up as far as 21st before finishing in 24th.

Race two saw another fine start but Pitty was boxed in and had to settle for a credible 25th. He was 10th fastest after Monday’s warm-up with tyre choice the topic on every team’s minds throughout the day due to sporadic showers.

Pitty headed out for race one with a wet front and dry rear tyre but this combination, on a rapidly drying track, made the Triumph almost impossible to ride fast resulting in a very frustrating 30th place.

Race two saw similar conditions and Pitty returned to form with another 24th place finish.

Overall the team learned some valuable lessons to take to Donington Park next month.
