Two youngsters from Ramsbottom Table Tennis Academy travelled to Garstang to play in the Lancashire Cadet trials on Sunday.

Thirteen-year-old Harry Bell and Adam Kenzitt, aged 14, were among 20 cadets from across Lancashire to take part.

The youngsters were divided in to groups of five with the top two from each group going through to the next round.

During the trials, which do not count towards ranking points, Kenzitt ranked 189th in the England Cadets, beat two seeded players ranked at 71st and 135th, losing his only set of the day to the eventual runner-up.

Kenzitt also beat the current Bury League junior champion Daniel Olsberg 3-1.

Unfortunately Bell did not play his best on the day and did not progress to the knockout stages.

The duo are expected to play in the Stiga Blackpool Cadets and the North West under-15s next month.
