BURY chief executive Glenn Thomas has allayed shareholders’ concerns over the delay in the club’s annual meeting, promising a date will be confirmed before the end of this month.
Thomas had issued a statement earlier this summer saying the AGM, which is normally held in January, would be postponed until September due to “historic legal issues” thought to be concerning the way shares were issued in the past.
The deadline has now passed for a September AGM, but the Shakers chief said in a statement published on the club’s website: “The issues around the organisation of an AGM have nearly been resolved and the club is happy to confirm that the notices will be sent out this month.
“The issues relating to the delays have been caused by some historic legal issues that have needed to be rectified and in turn approved by the Football League.
“There are no further delays and once all the paperwork has been received in the next few days a date will be confirmed.”
