Two Radcliffe AC members set personal bests when they ran the Robin Hood Marathon in Nottingham on Sunday.

A much improving Fiona Lynch beat her previous time by two minutes as she clocked 3hrs 21mins 33secs to finish sixth woman and 130th overall out of hundreds of competitors.

Luigi Salzano ran his best time of 3:34:43, while Amanda Hey ran the Nottingham Half Marathon and clocked 1:56.

Six members ran the Swinton 10-mile road race on Sunday with Rob Shiels (V40) coming home 55th out of the field of 263 runners in 1:05:52. Next in for Radcliffe was Mauro Rotondi (V40) in 1:18:25, Sheila Jones was first vet-55 in 1:24.28. Kath Davies (V50) ran 1:25.54. Eileen Royle was first vet-65 in 1.27 and Zena Knowles, in her first 10-miler, clocked 1:31:42.

Paul Swyers took to the hills in the Lantern Pike Fell Race in Little Hayfield, High Peak, Derbyshire running the four plus miles with 1,000 feet of climbing in 49 minutes.

Andy Wheeler was going well in the Yarrow River Trail Race at Chorley until he had a bad fall bruising his ribs, and grazing his elbows and knees. Managing to finish in 115th place out 145, he vowed he would stick to the roads in future.

Rob Lister donned fancy dress as a cheerleader when he joined the third birthday celebrations at the Barrow-in-Furness 5k Parkrun, in Cumbria. He said he “danced his way round” but he still clocked a good time of 21:08.
