BURY left it late to see off non-league Hemel Hempstead Town and progress into the second round of the FA Cup.
Nathan Cameron settled the nerves with a well-taken volley on the turn in the 88th minute to make it 2-1 before substitute Danny Nardiello popped up with a close-range header in stoppage time.
The Shakers’ Conference South opponents – 61 places below them in the football pyramid – took an early lead after James Potton’s scuffed shot found a gap at Rob Lainton’s near post in the tenth minute.
Potton then forced Lainton into two decent stops before Andrew Tutte put the home side back on level terms with a well-placed strike into the bottom corner.
Referee Andy Haines angered home fans by waving away two penalty appeals for Bury, who laid siege to the Tudors box in the second half before Cameron stepped up to lash home a bouncing ball from eight yards out to effectively settle the tie.
