AS the North West Premier netball season reached the midway point, fifth-placed Bury YWCA suffered defeat at league leaders Oldham on Sunday.
In a tough first fixture of the new year, the Bury girls were still suffering from a festive hangover as they made countless errors to give the hosts the advantage from the first whistle.
This continued to be a theme throughout the match as Bury succumbed to a 60-38 defeat, with Jenny Cross receiving the player-of-the-match award for the visitors.
Bury YWCA will be looking to improve on the result in their next fixture at home to second-from-bottom Deeside in a fortnight.
They will also be hoping goal shooter Michelle Carroll will be fit after she sustained a knee injury in the second quarter on Saturday.
