Bury Table Tennis Academy held their annual mini-tournament before the festive break.

Split into two sessions for beginners and intermediate players, the youngsters gained some match practice and scored their own games during the contest.

Playing in the Table Tennis England National Cadet League is helping the academy squad to improve their table tennis skills and it is hoped that many of them will represent the Bury League in the future.

It was the first competitive table tennis for everyone taking part with 10-year-old Ben Strapps beating Thomas Hurst, also aged 10 in the final.

In the consolation play-off, Ewan Spence, aged 11, beat academy newcomer, 10-year-old Adam Scarth.

In the second session, 14-year-old Adam Kenzitt beat his Bury League teammate Harry Bell.
