DANNY Mayor has been given the all clear to play for Bury in their crunch clash at Tranmere on Saturday, manager David Flitcroft has revealed.

The Shakers boss says he has virtually full fit to squad to choose from for the League Two season finale, after Kelvin Etuhu and Joe Riley also recovered from injuries.

Only defender Jim McNulty (hip) will be missing as Bury go in search of the three points that could help clinch automatic promotion.

Mayor ¬- the League Two player of the season ¬- was rested for last Saturday’s 2-0 win against Wimbledon after complaining of tightness in his back and hamstrings.

“It was the correct decision last week as it was touch and go,” said Flitcroft on the 24-year-old winger.

“We got a scan done and that revealed he is A1.

"In hindsight, it was probably a good thing Danny has been able to sit it (Saturday’s game) out.

“He will be refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.”

Etuhu has recovered from a back problem that saw him substituted at half time last weekend while Joe Riley has shown no long-lasting effects after taking a knock to his knee in the second half.

Bury go into Saturday’s match fourth in the table, two points behind Southend in the final automatic promotion place.

If the Shrimpers fail to win at Morecambe then victory for the Shakers would secure League One football next season.
