BOWLER Mark Stewart took seven wickets on consecutive days as Greenmount got back to winning ways with back-to-back victories in the league and cup last weekend.

Stewart blitzed the batting of Astley Bridge as Andy Kerr's side recorded a comfortable 114-run home victory on Saturday, and took his personal weekend tally to 14 wickets on Sunday as Greenmount dumped Tonge out of the Hamer Cup.

Captain Kerr scored 63 and Phil Ingram added 73 as the hosts posted 217-9 against Astley Bridge. Syd De Silva was the most notable bowler taking 5-51.

Amal Athulathmudali scored most of A&B’s 103 reply as he struck 76 but it was Stewart who starred as he bowled 7-33 which included a hat-trick to claim the win.

Mark Stewart took his second seven-wicket haul of the weekend as Greenmount dismissed Tonge for 38.

Travis Townsend finished on 26no as the visitors closed the target down for the loss of two wickets.
