CAPTAIN Paul Hopton was delighted with his side's "faultless" performance after Brooksbottom registered their first league win of the campaign in style against Ribblesdale Wanderers at Rowlands Road on Saturday.

The skipper returned to the top of the order and batted through for 100 not out with 12 fours from 122 balls.

He was supported by Simon Arsmbey (18), John Whittle (17) and Mo Qureshi (29) in the home side's total of 229 all out.

In reply, the visitors could not deal with a fast and aggressive spell from Mo Qureshi who took 5-29 from 14.2 overs and Zeb Qureshi also weighed in with 5-60 as the visitors were blasted out for 92. Professional Ryan Canning was the Ribb's top scorer with 29.

Despite the Brox remaining bottom of Section B, Hopton was pleased they had finally found their winning form.

"It took some time but we got there in the end," he said.

"Our performances have been getting better over the last couple of weeks.

"We have been getting ourselves into a few winning positions but then we seem to mess it up but against Ribblesdale we were faultless.

"Hopefully this will now kick start the season for us."
