Bury Amateur Boxing club coach Mick Jelley will host his first boxing show for more than six years next month.

Around 15 representatives from Ireland will take place in the contest which will be held at Radcliffe’s Civic Hall on Saturday, October 3.

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50 from Mick on 0161 764 6216 or at the Seedfield Community Centre on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.

TWO young fighters from Bury amateur boxing club were in action at Middleton Civic Hall last week.

Fourteen-year-old Umar Niaz won his first-ever fight with a points victory against K Graham from Birmingham's O'Dell's ABC, while Saif Qureshi, aged 15, lost on a split decision to M McCarrick from Boarshaw ABC.
