BURY ladies' second team continued their excellent start to the season when they held league leaders Oldham to a 1-1 draw on Saturday but there were heavy defeats for the ladies' first team and men's second team.
Despite going a goal down at home to Oldham, the ladies' second team continue to acquit themselves confidently following last season’s promotion and stand-in captain Lisa Davies fired home to level the scores.
A weakened ladies' first team were outplayed by Stockport Bramhall with the visitors winning 5-1 at Castlebrook. A consolation goal from Beth Topping was all the ladies had to show for their efforts against one of the division’s strongest sides.
Following a poor first half display, the men’s second team crashed to a 3-0 home defeat to City of Manchester.
The match, however, was over-shadowed by a season-ending injury to goalkeeper Dan Taylor, who broke his wrist in the course of making a save.
And the unfortunate event marred what had been a better second half performance from Bury.
