A SECOND half fightback helped Bury YWCA take a share of the spoils at Blackpool on Saturday.

The Bury Grammar School-based outfit, who were looking to get their season back on track after losing their opening fixture in North West Regional League Premier Division, clawed their way back to 53-53 in another close encounter against the unbeaten seasiders.

With some fast play being put together by both sides, Bury edged ahead during the early stages of the game only to be repeatedly pegged back by a determined Blackpool side.

The final 15 minutes saw Blackpool take the lead at a crucial time in the match, and Bury looked to be heading for a second consecutive defeat. However, Ruth Moreno's much-improved team levelled the scores and were unlucky not to net a last-gasp winner.

The player of the match accolade was awarded to Jenny Lytham for some game changing interceptions.

Bury will look to register their first win of the season at home to Trafford this weekend.
