FORMER Bury goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has rejoined the club on a short-term deal.
The 37-year-old stopper, who has been without a club after having spells at Ipswich and Bolton last season, returns to Gigg Lane 17 years after he signed from Bradford Park Avenue.
Kenny made a total of 150 appearances for the Shakers in four years at the club.
He left in October 2002 to link up with ex-Bury boss Neil Warnock at Sheffield United, and also followed him to Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United.
Coincidentally, his first league game was in a 2-1 win for Bury against Gillingham in August 1999.
He has been brought in chiefly as cover for the Shakers' trip to face the Kent side next weekend, when the club's two first-team keepers, Daniel Bachmann and Jack Ruddy, will be away on international duty.
Manager David Flitcroft was keen to bring in experienced cover, and Kenny certainly has that, with 636 career appearances.
