Nige ‘Pitty’ Pitt has set his sights on a fourth season with Thundersport GB after bringing the 2015 campaign to a positive end.

The Bury rider returned to Cadwell Park last month for the final round of this year’s Thundersport GB series and claimed a personal best finish at the Lincolnshire circuit.

Having not ridden there for three years, Team Pitty had to make the test day count on one of the most technically demanding tracks of the season.

Pitty qualified in 26th place for the two races on the Saturday, and in his first-ever race start on the full circuit at Cadwell Park, a long battle with four other riders saw Pitty finish in 28th.

Race two was delayed as a rider in the previous race needed medical attention, so the riders headed out onto the circuit with cold tyres.

The race was reduced, putting the pressure on to get heat into the tyres as quickly as possible, but heading into Coppice, Pitty was met with waved yellow flags, then a bike in the middle of the track and two riders down.

This incident very quickly brought out the red flags and the race was declared after just three laps, seeing Pitty finish in 25th.

The riders had to contend with a wet track on the Sunday for only the second time all season after overnight rain.

The ‘mega laps’ classification from Saturday determined the grid positions for the Sunday races, and despite improving his lap times on Saturday, Pitty was relegated to start 30th for races three and four.

With a drying line appearing, conditions were tricky, but with confidence growing with every lap, Pitty made his way through the pack to finish in a respectable 22nd place.

And he went even better in the final race of the season, when the track was now fully wet again.

Pitty soon found his rhythm, riding smooth and controlled, again making places to end the weekend with a personal best finish of 20th.

Throughout the weekend, Pitty consistently showed the strength of his Triumph Daytona and his team are already looking forward to 2016, with the intention being to remain with Thundersport GB.
