YOUNG artistic skater Emma Thiele beat off competition from nationwide to win three trophies earlier this month.
Smithills sport centre hosted an Open competition, which attracted youngsters from all over the UK, with some clubs flying in from the Channel Islands.
And Emma, who competes for Bolton Artistic Roller Skating Club, showed she would not be upstaged on her own patch.
The 11-year-old from Whitefield won the Solo Dance event, the Freedance event and the Duo Free event with her friend, Hollie Asquith.
That triple success continued a fine year for Emma, who is a pupil at St Monicas RC High School in Prestwich and is coached by Nina Asquith.
She has represented Great Britain three times, including at the Cup Of Europe, which was held in Dijon, France.
Emma also finished second in the British Free Skating Competition and third in the British Dance Competition.
