CHRIS Eagles has spoken of his desire to return to first-team football after being frozen out at Bury.

Two weeks ago manager David Flitcroft confirmed the former Manchester United midfielder was no longer training with his senior players.

The Bury boss said the 30-year-old would continue training with the Under-18 squad for the foreseeable future, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

It was reported in an interview with the Sun newspaper that Eagles was frozen out after questioning fitness training, which he feels led to him getting injured.

The ex-Bolton man has only played five times for Bury since joining as a free agent in October and does not expect to play for the Shakers again.

“I don’t care where I play,” he said. “I just want to play and show people that it’s not all about the materialistic stuff, it’s about putting on a pair of boots and playing.”
