RADCLIFFE Borough have lined up pre-season friendlies against Bolton Wanderers and Bury as they prepare to kick off a new era.

Ramsbottom United will also be facing a Bolton XI but the Rams are waiting on confirmation from Bury to reprise their annual fixture against the League One club.

Bill Prendergast has returned as Radcliffe boss, with Paul Hilton taking over as chairman, and Boro's new-look squad reported back for pre-season training last Saturday.

Their first pre-season game will be at home against Bolton on Saturday, July 9, and their next confirmed friendly is at home to Stalybridge Celtic on Thursday, July 21, before Rochdale visit on Tuesday, July 26.

Bury have agreed to make their annual trip to Radcliffe on Friday, July 29, and Boro will then visit Daisy Hill on Tuesday, August 2.

Bolton will also be sending a side to Radcliffe's new league rivals Ramsbottom, who are looking to bounce back from a dismal season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

The Rams were relegated for the first time in the club's 50-year history but last week named Paul Fildes and Mark Fell as their new joint managers.

They will begin their reign with a friendly at Nelson on Saturday, July 16, before visiting New Mills the following Saturday.

The Rams are looking to arrange a home fixture on Tuesday, July 26, when Bury have a friendly against Carlisle United.

But that game will now be played behind closed doors at Carrington so a Bury XI may be able to visit Ramsbottom that week.

The Rams will then visit Prestwich Heys on Saturday, July 30, before hosting Bolton on Tuesday, August 2.
